We helped Krylon create video tutorials of new applications for existing products to help them make deeper inroads within the craft community.

Challenge

Krylon — a leading brand of aerosol paints — was looking to further their connection to the craft community by promoting a number of new applications utilizing their existing paint products. In order to demonstrate these new applications, the brand requested a series of simple, high-quality videos for the dual purpose of promotion through Krylon’s own content channels as well as through Michael’s craft stores content distribution network.

Execution

To produce the series of videos, we built a custom set in our in-house Content Studio designed to mimic a craft room. We filmed and directed Krylon’s representative crafter as she described the steps of each application. We then scripted voice-over audio according to the crafter’s instructions and edited the footage into one minute segments with animated graphic overlays to complete the videos. The content presented a clear “how-to” guide for the crafting paints using example projects and applications in a way that also inspired crafters to imagine their own creative projects — and the entire project only took 4 days to complete.
